Wheatstone House, London
PLACE was appointed by the client to produce a landscape design for a new mixed-use scheme sitting between Chiswick High Road and the M4 Motorway.
The landscape concept connects the varying levels of open space with the use of green elements. The public realm on the ground floor provides a setback from the busy Chiswick high street. Access to the retail units and residential units will be via the public realm which contains tree, planting, seating and paving to minimise visual cluster. Play provision for children over 5-11 will also be located in the quiet corner, away from the busy road.
The proposal for private amenity spaces on the first floor (podium) level will be for residences only. The space will be centrally positioned and will provide seating, lawn and play provision for under 5s. On this level, the residential balconies will be screened by plants and trees.
