Lime Square - Reading

Having designed the landscape infrastructure of Green Park, PLACE was commissioned to design the landscape for Lime Square, the new retail and cafe quarter at the centre of the Park. The Square provides a rendezvous for office workers, shoppers and visitors, as well as acting as a venue for events, such as food markets and music performances.

A large formal pool with cascading edges creates the focal point of the Square and adds to the vibrant atmosphere. Formal lines of trees provide shade for shoppers and diners, and contemporary low-level lighting encourages visitors to continue to use the space into the evening.
